There’s an article I read this week that I have to share. There was an iOS developer who shared a story of having six job interviews at six high-profile Bay area software companies in six business days. All six interviews yielded job offers. Here’s a link to the post. It’s a must read in my opinion. The six companies were: LinkedIn, Yelp, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google. It’s an impressive feat to get a job offer at any of these companies, let alone all of them. I’ve practiced for technical interviews before, but I’ve never actually participated in one at any of these companies. It’d be a fun challenge to go through the “gauntlet” like this at some point. Now that I’ve read through Refactoring, it’s time to start another vaunted software development book. I’ll be starting Code Complete 2 this week. At over 900 pages, Code Complete could take a couple of months to finish. I’ve skimmed over it in the past, but I’m excited to finally start an official journey through it. Code Complete looks like a book that will uncover many hard earned lessons on software construction.
